Spiritual Warfare is Not Optional-Sheryl

01 Norman in the field

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” (I Peter 5:8)

Hi Lord! Awesome service this morning. You are truly our most incredible, tender Lover. Thank you!

I had a dream a couple nights ago which I hesitate to write down, but I feel compelled to do so. Please tell me why I had such a disturbing dream.

I dreamed I was in a large room set up cafeteria style with rows of long tables and chairs. There were windows lining the room. Only four people were in the room. A couple was sitting at a table, maybe eating. I was standing by the table and a man was hovering around me. All of us were maybe in our 20’s or 30’s. The man hovering around me was sexually harassing me, grabbing my butt, even thrusting his hand down the front of my shirt. The couple seemed uncomfortable with the situation, but did or said nothing. I kept telling the man to stop and finally said if he tried anything else I was going to call the police. That was the end of the dream. The situation felt ugly and icky and I was angry.

“The cafeteria is your soul—where you take in, see, hear, and experience the world around you. It is mostly clean and orderly. There are no guards at the door to keep anyone out. The couple is also the part of you that looks on and reacts mentally or emotionally to what enters the world of your soul, but is too passive over most of it. The harassing young man is the enemy of your soul taking advantage of an unguarded moment, a door unlocked, windows bare, no one to come to your defense. You threatened finally to call the police, Me, and the harassment and dream ended because even invoking my Name makes the enemy flee. Spiritual warfare, indeed even the warfare prayers Noval prays over you and the household are not optional, extraneous, or meaningless. If he is absent do not forget them. The night is getting darker. The enemy knows his time is short. His howls and roars are more persistent and desperate.”
