On Peace- Noval

Psalm 34:11-14 New International Version (NIV)

11 Come, my children, listen to me;
    I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Whoever of you loves life
    and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil
    and your lips from telling lies.
14 Turn from evil and do good;
    seek peace and pursue it.

Teach me Your ways.  Show me Your face.  Bless me with Your presence.  Your presence is peace, joy, wisdom, confidence, comfort and hope.

All of creation speaks of Your faithfulness; You crown my life with blessings: provision, comfort, convenience, peace.  You cause my soul to rest, my spirit to hope.

When the soul rests, you are more open to beauty in all its forms- the handiwork of My creation, the beauty of each person you see, the brilliance of their humanity, however tarnished and dusted by disappointment or sorrow or wrong roads taken.  Peace gives you the capacity to see My image in each person you meet, to look beneath the surface and discern the heart.

Peace is pursued by the wise.  Pursue peace-first with Me.  That’s the easiest, as I have already made peace with you through the cross.  Then, seek peace within yourself.  You do that by dwelling in My presence, allowing Me to touch and heal and restore the inner man. When you’re at peace within yourself, it’s so much easier to pursue peace with others.  You can let go of defensiveness and pride and self-righteous judgement.  You can more easily take up the mantle of servanthood and humility.  You can seek to bless others with little concern for what you receive back.

Peacemakers receive joy.  Peacemakers inherit the kingdom  Peacemakers love life and see good days.

Peace is the conduit through which love flows.  And where love flows, there is true life.
